Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a wife, a mom to 4 kids (and 2 dogs), I work full-time, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am sometimes teased that if I didn't take pictures, then it didn't happen. But my family is my greatest joy, and I don't want to forget a minute of our lives together. I love watching our children learn and grow (though there are days I want to pull my hair out). Whether it's at soccer games, lacrosse tournaments, volleyball matches, camping, or just hanging out in the neighborhood, we spend time together, and we always make time for friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. There have been times in my life where I stumbled and walked a slightly different path, but my greatest happiness, fulfillment and peace comes when I am actively engaged in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, with all my heart. I am grateful each day for the blessings I have, and include my testimony as one of my greatest treasures.

How I live my faith

When I was 18, I received my Patriarchal Blessing ~ a blessing of hope and promises. One passage that always stands out in my mind: "...have the desire to lose yourself in service to others, for this will bring you happiness. As you forget self you will have joy and fulfillment flow back into your life far more than that which you give." As I've gotten older, I've learned this to be true. I can either feel bad for myself and some struggle I'm dealing with, or I can get up and get out and serve someone else. I've had the privilige of spending most of adult-life serving in the Primary ~ the children's organization of the church. There is something special about children and I love watching their testimonies of Christ grow and strengthen. Recently I've also had the chance to work with the Young Women at Girls Camp. These young women are amazing! They face so many obstacles in the world today, and they are valiant and true and stand as a beacon of light for others.
