Hi I'm Kirk

I grew up on a Ranch in central Utah. I now work as an Enviromental Technician at a power plant in Utah and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 39 years old and am the father of 4 chldren; 2 girls and 2 boy's. My wife is a wonderful women from the Uintah Basin in Utah. They are my life. I work for a coal fired power plant in central Utah. I have been employed there for the last 10 years. I am still not sure what I want to be when I grow up!!! I worked in the Auto Body Repair trade for 4-5 years and really enjoy doing that type of work. The town I live in now is very small. There are only about 300-350 people who reside here. It is a great place to raise kids. We like hiking camping and doing anything up in the mountains, which are in our front yard.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS faith. Both my parents come from the original pioneers who traveled by wagon or horseback or foot to settle this great state of Utah. But even though my roots are so deep, there comes a time in a persons life that they must find out for themselves if what they have been taught is real. Such is what happened to me. I had to find out wether the Book of Mormon was really true or not. I read the book, then I knelt down and asked my Heavenly Father if it was true, if what my parents taught me was true. I can honestly say that I know now that the Book of Mormon is true. It is another testamant of our savior Jesus Christ. I am convinced that Jesus died for our sins. I know that He was ressurected. I know that because of Him, I can be forgiven of the dumb things that I do. I know that this life is a way for me to continually strive to be a better person. A way for me to become more like my savior. Because of Him, we can be together with our families forever. This life is not the end.

How I live my faith

My family and I enjoy going to church every sunday. I teach some of the adults in my ward during what is called sunday school. This year we are studying the New Testament. My wife works with the women in our community. We also attend the Temple in Manti Utah about once a month. This is where we learn more about our Heavenly Fathers plan for us. What a great opportunity it is to learn more of Him!! Our family also reads from the scriptures every morning. This brings a much needed peace into our day. We also have morning and evening family prayer. We have come to learn that with these to small and simple things, a great peace and love comes into our lives. We set a family goal this year to do at least one act of service for someone in need each month. This has also been a great blessing in our family.
