Hi I'm Michael

I’m a skier, a motor cycle enthusiast, a husband and father, and a grandfather and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I love to Ski and have been skiing since I was 10 years old. Six years ago I started Heli-skiing with some friends and have been hooked on it ever since. I make at least one annual trip to Canada for Heli-skiing and plan to continue this until I can no longer stand on skis. During the summer I like riding motor cycles to relax and enjoy the outdoors. I enjoy scuba diving when on tropical vacations and occasionally play some golf. I am a soccer fan and have been enjoying the Seattle Sounders games since they started. I enjoy spending time with my wife and family. Oh and I’m and electronic engineer, but that's work and I don’t like to work.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this church my whole life, but it wasn’t until I was in my thirties that I really became converted to this church and started to fully understand the importance of my faith in my life. When I was younger I thought if I worked hard and did what was right I would be happy. But I now know that true happiness comes for the experiences we have and friends and family that we know and love. No matter how much stuff you acquire in this life, you can’t take it with you. What you can take is all you know and who you know. I have had many times in my life when I have felt lost and alone. I thought I was struggling through my problems with no help. That’s just not true. I know that I have a purpose in life. I know I am here on this earth to gain experience and to learn and grow. I know I have a Father in Heaven who loves and cares for me. I know he sent his son Jesus Christ to be my Savior. Christ knows me and wants me to be truly happy. With my faith in God and the understanding I have gained from being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I know there is a plan for me where I can be truly happy. This plan includes my life here on earth, and continues beyond my death. I know I can be with my loved ones forever.

How I live my faith

I enjoy spending time working with youth. Working with them helps me to feel young. I am deeply concerned for the youth of today. Today’s youth have so many factors working against them. I hope to be able to help the youth realize and understand the impact their daily decisions can have on their lives. I often reflect on my children and how I tried to help them. I look for ways that I can do better in helping others navigate the choices before them.
