Hi I'm Alex

I love to learn. I love to LAUGH. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi! I'm a graduate student in Speech-Language Pathology and I love it!! I'm in graduate school, but still feel like a teenager at heart. I love working with the youth and helping them enjoy their time of life. I get a rush from making people laugh. I grew up moving a lot and, given a million dollars, would use that to travel. I'm a sucker for musical theater. By no means am I a daredevil, but I will always try something new at least once.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it gives me direction and meaning in my life. I know that the Gospel is set up today in the same way as when Christ taught when He lived on the earth. God loves His children and has given us the Gospel of Jesus Christ as a safe haven. With all the evil things the world is going through, the Gospel protects us. I am so grateful for that. I grew up in the church because my parents, their parents, and their parents were all Mormons. A lot of people think I've been "brainwashed" into believing the Mormon church. But when I was a teenager, I began to question it. I had to know for myself if it was true. I prayed, studied, and asked for direction in my life. I was expecting a vision or an angelic visit, but I got nothing. A few months later, I began understanding that the peace and protection I had felt in my life WAS my answer. The feelings of happiness and joy that came from living the gospel fully were what God had given me to establish my faith. I know God answers prayers and will answer your prayer if you ask if this church is true. I know He loves us and doesn't want us to feel lost or unhappy while we're away from Him here on earth. THAT is why the church exists. THAT is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day at a time. In my day-to-day life, the Gospel of Jesus Christ strengthens me and gives me purpose. I served a full-time mission in Honduras. For 18 months, I left my family and friends and gave up my schooling to dedicate my life to the Lord. I invited others to come to Christ and I truly found eternal joy in seeing others find genuine happiness in the Gospel. I live my faith by serving the people in my local congregation. Twice a month, I meet with a small group to discuss ways we can help our brothers and sisters in the church come closer to Christ. Mostly, I incorporate living the gospel into my average, typical life by serving others, reading my scriptures every day, and by constantly trying to improve myself and make progress in my relationship with God.
