Hi I'm David

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm in the United State Navy. I was a missionary for the church in Peru. I enjoy study foreign languages, playing sports and participating in Church activities. I am married, no kids yet.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I have received conformation that the church is true through the Holy Ghost. that is to say that I have received my answer. As a missionary I thought people the gospel as it had been taught to me, but didn't ask them to believe in my words, but rather to pray for themselves. The reason I know the church is true is because I asked God. I prayed and said that I was confused and wanted to be sure if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was really the true church of God. An overwhelming feeling fell upon me filling my heart with an immense joy! I had never felt anything like it in my entire life! I know that my Heavenly Father was answering me, directly. The confusion was gone and with it all and any doubt. I am grateful for the church because it blesses and improves my life and I wish to share it with all!

How I live my faith

I wake up a little earlier to read the scriptures with my wife, pray often, go to church on Sundays and strive to live the commandments. it's the simple stuff that makes the biggest difference. I'm far from perfect, but I try.

Who was Joseph Smith?

David
Apostasy, in biblical context, is a period in which the truth is not on the earth. The "truth" implies many many things, for example how man should live out his life, the true nature mans divine creator, what happens after death, etc. Our Heavenly Father has always wanted his children to have the truth, but often times in history this truth has been rejected. Nevertheless Heavenly Father's messengers teach his truth. A lot of Prophets have been killed trying to teach. When that rejection takes place Heavenly Father waits for the time to be right and tries again. He doesn’t force anyone to believe rather he lets us have our freedom to choose, but he wants us to believe in his prophets because through them he can teach guide and protect his mislead children and we defiantly need this help. Now to the reader if you’re still with me, this should all make sense, especially to someone with a Christian background (and even if you don't have one, if you’re willing to entertain the idea that there’s more to life than what you see) Now to more modern times... A simple summary of events. Heavenly Father sent Jesus to earth to teach the truth, he was rejected, as were his apostles that followed him. Interestingly though some of what they had taught did stick. Though not in its truest form remnants remained. Over the centuries the teaches of Christ were distorted, forgotten and lost. God wont abandon his children; enter Joseph Smith Modern Prophet of God, to once again guide us! Show more Show less
