Hi I'm Kayleen

I grew up in Utah. I love family, singing, animals, and seeing the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the youngest of 5 children. Between my family and my husbands' family we have 19 nephews and nieces. I love children. I have a huge soft spot in my heart for animals. I love to travel and see the world, but my main hobby in life is singing. I've been in choirs since I was 12 years old, and received a degree in choral music teaching. In 2010 I joined the Colorado Mormon Chorale. I look forward to every Wednesday where I get to sing my heart out, and spend time with wonderful friends and musicians. I feel so blessed to be married to the man of my dreams. We have a wonderful, happy life together, though not without it's challenges. We've struggled with infertility for nearly 5 years. As we wait on the Lord for our turn to be parents we've learned so much about trusting Him, and trusting in His will and timing. I'm constantly learning that He has a deep love for us and that trials in our lives help us to grow in character and become who God would have us be. I love life. I love my Savior and I love His gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family. I knew when I was baptized on my eighth birthday that I was making my Heavenly Father happy. As a child I believed the things I was taught were true, but I had to seek out the truth on my own to really have a testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ. By reading the Book of Mormon and praying to ask God if it's true, I have learned that it is. The Holy Spirit whispers to me time and again that this is God's church. I know anyone who asks God with a sincere heart will know the same as I do. It is through life's joys and sorrows that I am reminded of God's love for me. When I'm happy I know He feels joy. And when I'm scared or sad He comforts me without fail. With such a loving Father in Heaven, how can I not do my best to live His gospel? I'm forever indebted to Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by serving those around me, and trying to live as Jesus did. I visit other women and do my best to see to their needs. Whether by bringing meals to a sick friend, tending her children, or simply by giving words of encouragement and sharing life's joys, I know I can make a positive difference for those around me. I also love to serve those in my community who are not of my faith. I believe it's important to be a friend to all of God's children. I served an 18 month mission in Santiago, Chile. There my testimony grew as I had the joy of seeing others come unto Christ. I serve every week in the Denver LDS Temple where I feel an overwhelming sense of peace and the presence of God's Spirit. I look forward to attending church every Sunday where I'm strengthened by/with fellow Mormons. Our common beliefs create a strong bond. I know that no matter where I am in the world I can rely on fellow Latter-Day Saints for friendship or to help out when I'm in need.
