Hi I'm Zach Speck

I am a quirky, bible quoting, arrow-shooting Christian, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Colorado and LOVED IT! I come from a non-religious family with a deep love for respect, honor, and downright FUN! I love serving others, making corny scripture jokes, talking to people, practicing archery, baking pies, listening to people talk, and honestly just living life. Above everything else, I love testifying of my savior Jesus. My personal relationship with my savior is something that I would never sacrifice for anything or anyone, because I deeply and sincerely know without Him, I am nothing. I spent three and a half months living in Jerusalem on a study abroad, and loved being able to live near and with people that had vastly different religious beliefs than I did. I learned so much about what they believe and even more about what I believe. I came to a knowledge of my redeemer when I was 21 and never looked back (save I shall be turned in to a pillar of salt [Gen 19:26])! I never believed that Christianity was a true and complete religion because of the wicked things I watched Christians commit. As my pride spiraled my life out of control my soul hungered; and I kneeled down before my Maker, and I cried unto him in mighty prayer and supplication for mine own soul (Enos 1:4). I asked to be lead, and I was lead to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it's what makes me happy! I say this often, but being Mormon is the BEST! There's a lot of people who are on Team Jesus, but being a Mormon is like being the special forces for Team Jesus. We go out there on the front lines, shovel the mud out of the trenches and hold the line. We pound the streets, knock doors, "visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and keep [ourselves] unspotted from the world." (James 1:27) And really, that's all I've ever wanted out of life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a lot of different ways, but I feel the underlying principle in how I live my life is what James 2:26 says: "For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." Without works our faith is dead, but without faith our works are dead as well. I find it extremely important to let my faith run through every aspect of my life, because it is what makes me better. I like to consider myself a man of few words (you wouldn't guess it reading this profile) because I like to act more than speak. I feel like a lot of people teach of Christ and quote Christ, but few of them live for Him. Of course I'm flawed like everyone else, but I believe that if you want people to believe that Jesus will make you happy, you need to let others know how happy Jesus makes you. And honestly, the best way to do that is to be charitable. I'm not talking about being free with your substance, but being charitable the way Christ was charitable. I honestly believe that "if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth... charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever..." Love is what Christ left behind, and love is what I want to leave behind in word, action & thought.
