Hi I'm Becky

I'm a mom to 3 kids. I'm an Air Force brat. I LOVE teaching piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom of three kids. One of my kiddos is physically handicapped, but he is such a blessing in my life. Being a mom is one of the best things I ever did. I've never done anything more fulfilling. They've taught me so much. I LOVE learning and trying new things. I was obsessed with all things cross stitch. My family members can all attest to that! Now my new obession is crocheting and knitting. It's faster and more travel-sized convenient! I received my associate's degree with the idea that I would go on to become a paralegal. But the more I mixed with children, the more I wanted to be around them. I love teaching, singing and helping children learn, whether it's at church, school, or through my piano lessons. With that in mind, I'm hoping to go back to college and get my degree in Early Childhood Music Education. I was the oldest of 7 children. My father was an Air Force pilot. So we moved around quite a bit. I even completed my high school education in England! I guess I never got the moving bug out of my system, because I married an Air Force Reservist. It's been tough moving with kids, but I love meeting new people and seeing new places.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in an active LDS family. I was very blessed to have a mom and dad who lived what they believed. Reading the scriptures, attending church, treating people with love and respect and living the gospel was just who they were. If there was a problem that needed an answer, my parents always went to Lord in prayer. They would always come back with the answer and let us know. They taught us the importance of paying tithing, having Family Home Evening and following the teachings of the prophet. Because of their example, I knew the gospel was true. I knew that the Lord would answer my prayers. Because we read the Bible and the Book of Mormon as a family, I knew the answers to problems could be found in the scriptures. Then I developed my own testimony as a teen-ager. I found that during those tough times, the Lord would answer my prayer either through the comfort of the Holy Ghost, or through a lesson or testimony at church on Sunday. I believed the Lord knew me and how to comfort me. As a mom, I find that His love knows no bounds. I have received answers to prayers time and time again, strength and love in my marriage, and comfort through trials.

How I live my faith

I love going to church on Sunday and learning about the Bible and the Book of Mormon. Even though I've been in the LDS church all my life, I still learn new things as we study the scriptures. Reading the Bible and the Book of Mormon everyday, gives me the balance in my life that I need. I'm grateful for the spiritual protection and guidance the Book of Mormon gives me. I find that reading the scriptures becomes more than just something to do daily, but it becomes something that I need to get me through the day. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, translated by the prophet Joseph Smith and that is a companion to the Bible. They both witness of the divinity of the Savior, Jesus Christ. I love my Savior. I'm grateful for His love for me. I'm grateful for His guidance in my life. I'm grateful for His atonement that can allow me to repent of my sins.
