Hi I'm Ben

I'm a husband, a father of four, I work as a business development manager and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California and I’ve always loved to spend time outdoors. I feel inspired by the beauty of the world Heavenly Father has created for us. I served a mission in the Dakota's and fell in love with the people and places of that land. I love to be with my family whether it’s just hanging out playing games or getting out on an adventure. I met my beautiful wife while we were in college and somehow convinced her to marry me. We now have four wonderful kids ranging from 16 to 2 years old. We have lived in Washington D.C., Arizona and Utah but for over 10 years now we have called Loveland, Colorado home. When I get the chance I like to head to the mountains with my family or friends to hike, bike or fly-fish, the more remote the location the better. Life is good!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of this church so growing up it’s all I ever knew. However, as I approached adulthood I began to question things and wanted to know for myself if the church I was raised in actually taught the word of God. I began my spiritual journey with a serious study of the Book of Mormon and perhaps for the first time in my life I started praying with a purpose and really attempting to establish a connection with my Heavenly Father. Early on in this process I felt ashamed to pray because I had not done so for a couple of years, but as I opened my heart to God I knew He was listening and had not turned me away even though I had been avoiding Him. Over the course of the next several months I continued my study of God’s word and I prayed daily for a conformation to my soul that the words I read were true. In the end my heart was softened and I did receive a spiritual conformation that Jesus is the Christ, that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the word of God and that I was on the right path. I’ve known from that time that the atonement of Jesus Christ is available to all of us and when we truly give ourselves to God He will make our burdens light and will fill us with truth, hope and love.

How I live my faith

The teachings of Christ are both an anchor and compass for my life. Being a member of this church gives me the opportunity to serve in many different ways including teaching gospel classes which I really enjoy. My faith affects every decision in my life and though I’m far from perfect I know where to look when I need answers and direction.
