Hi I'm Alma

I have been blind since birth. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a blind single mom. I enjoy watching TV, making new friends (and staying in touch with old), listening to music, and reading. I am currently a stay-at-home-mom and spend my days cleaning house, running errands, and, when time permits, taking advantage of an opportunity to have some time for myself.

Why I am a Mormon

My life on Earth began when I was born at only 26 weeks gestation, weighing one pound and 14 ounces. My chances of survival were minimal at best. Fortunately, Heavenly Father gave me the opportunity to live on this Earth to experience the things He wants me to experience, blindness being one of those things. The scriptures have given me much direction in times of trial and uncertainty, and the holy ghosg has been a constant guide and companion to me when I have sought His guidance. The LDS church is the only place where my blindness is not viewed as an inconvenience or a problem. I am allowed, even encouraged, to serve when and where I can, and everyone I offer to help is eager to have my assistance. I am seen as an equal by everyone I have come in contact with, whether in my congregation, at the temple, or elsewhere in the church. I have lived in two different wards and each has been t

How I live my faith

I am blessed to have the honor of visiting two members of my congregation on a monthly basis and sharing an uplifting message that the church provides. Since being a member of the LDS church, I have also had the wonderful opportunity to feed the missionaries several times.
