Hi I'm Don Gull

I'm a twin, a brother, a musician, outdoorsman, and best of all, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the 6th of 7 children. I am a twin, and identical twin to be exact. I love my family and doing many things with them, especially traveling, and camping. I love doing anything in the outdoors, be it rappelling in canyons, or skiing down some fresh Utah snow. I am big into music. I played the Bass Clarinet, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, and Tuba, sang Bass in the Choir, and helped conduct in High School. I was born in the church and have always loved it. Currently I am a mission in the Brasil Porto Alegre Sul Missão.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm not a Mormon to gain the title. I am not a Mormon because my parents made me, or "brainwashed" me into believing it. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know it is true. I know the Book of Mormon is true, and that God loves each and everyone of us. I know that we, as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints, are led by Prophets and Apostles this day. How do I know it is true? Because I wanted to know. I was born and raised in the church, and I wanted to know if I was doing the right thing being a member of this Church. I know now, that I am doing the right thing. I know because I feel it is true. I feel it in my heart. I hope and pray that you will someday ask the Lord if it is true, and I also hope that you will feel that love in your heart, and that desire and I did when I asked the Lord if it was true. God loves us and wants us to follow him, and to be with him again someday. The only way we can do that is through the Lord Jesus Christ. That is what this church is about. That is why The Church of Jesus Christ was restored upon the Earth, for the welfare of us, the Latter Day Saints. So we could come unto Christ and be made perfect through His Atonement, so we can live with God the Father when the time comes. This is why I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be a better person, not only to my family, but also to all those around me. I show that I am happy, cause I am. I also live my faith by following the commandment that our Lord has given us. I do not partake of anything that will harm me physically and spiritually. I also am living my faith as a missionary of the Church for 2 years to help others come unto Christ, and to know for themselves what I know.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Don Gull
It is not required, but we are asked to. For young men it is somewhat of a priesthood duty because we are raised with the knowledge, and also receive so much, but if the young man does not serve a mission, it does not mean will be excommunicated or something like that. Young Women are asked to serve a mission, but they don't have to. They are very helpful, but their duty is more towards marriage, but if they feel the desire they can serve a mission. Overall, no. All Latter-Day Saints, or as you may call us, Mormons, are not required to serve a mission. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Don Gull
Pray to Heavenly Father, and ask him. Follow his commandments so you may feel of his spirit, and listen or feel for the enticing of the Spirit. If it is true, you will know when you feel the spirit. Heavenly Father loves you and will answer your questions if you diligently seek them. It may not be right away. Keep your heart open for the spirit. The answer will come. Show more Show less
