Hi I'm Jacob Curtis

I am a husband and a father. I graduated from BYU-I. I'm an author. I beat a Guinness Record. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a father and love it! There is nothing better than the blessing of having a family but it takes a lot of work. I graduated from BYU-Idaho where I received a Bachelors in Business Management with an emphasis in Finance and Spanish. While attending BYU-Idaho I served in many school organizations and was the Student Body Vice President. Not to mention with a group of friends we broke, unofficially, a Guinness World Record. It was the farthest distance traveled with a tiddlywink. I currently work for Health and Welfare and enjoy the opportunity to serve the great people of Idaho. Some of my hobbies are eating at different, unique restaurants, exercising, and enjoying outdoor activities. I also enjoy using my creative juices to do new things whether that's fixing things around the house, writing a book, or trying to build something from scratch. I loooove reading but sadly don't have the time to do that always because of my other pursuits and responsibilities. I also enjoy watching good comedies with my beautiful wife.

Why I am a Mormon

I have learned to live the gospel one step at a time. It is important to have goals to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Living the Gospel of Jesus Christ is simple but sometimes we make it much more complex through the choices that we make. Whether that means from a mistake that has been made or not doing your best to fulfill your responsibilities. During my time in the church I have had many personal conflicts but have learned to overcome them when I simply do those little things that have been instructed to me by my church leaders, the scriptures, and the modern day prophet. Life can seem difficult and there are definitely challenges but through your efforts of remaining faithful and obedient you can see blessings come into your life. My home with my family has felt the spirit more as we have diligently striven to come closer to the Lord. Don't ever think that it is too hard or too challenging to succeed. God has given each of us unique trials to face but he has also given us the talents, strengths, and support to press forward. The more I put my trust in the Lord, the greater the influence I see in my life. I am grateful for the Atonement and the influence it can have on the lives of God's children. I know that my Savior loves me and He loves all of His spiritual brothers and sisters. I am a Mormon and choose to be such because there is no greater joy in this life then being an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints.

How I live my faith

As a member I have had countless opportunities to teach. I have taught both adults and children and have learned from these experiences. I love to teach and love to learn from the insights of others. There is nothing better than to see someone gain further knowledge in the gospel. Right now I have the privilege to teach children and to hear their stories and testimonies. The things that children learn from their parents and how those lessons influence their lives has helped me to understand my duties as a Father. Any parent or future parent must understand that to have success in such as role you must be a GREAT EXAMPLE and you must BE INVOLVED with the lives of your children and the gospel so they can see your positive actions. One recent challenge I have set for myself is to read three chapters of scriptures everyday. I was fairly consistent with my studies before but I never really read through all the scriptures from start to finish until I started doing this. This actually was a lesson from my home teacher about a year ago and I wanted to do more. The motivation I gained that day has helped me to truly read the scriptures with new vigor.
