Hi I'm Terry

I'm a Mormon and am a retired firefighter, a hunter, and gunstock maker. I'm a father and grandfather.

About Me

I am a retired firefighter, having served for 34 years and 9 months. I have been married for 47 years with my second marriage. She had three children and I had three children between us, then we had four more children. My favorite activity was hunting and I kept my family supplied with venison for many years. I have been a convert member since 1963. I am a Mormon and it has been a grand adventure.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a mormon because I flunked a religion class in college and that prepared me to learn about God by reading the New Testament, upwards to half a dozen times. I became very familiar with the principles so when the missionaries came by I was interested in what they had to say. They had the answers to many of my questions. I read the Book of Mormon in three days and knew it was true. I met my wife about one year after I became a member and got to share the gospel with her. And here we are today. That is why I enjoy being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have done my home teaching since 1965, sharing the gospel with the families I have been assigned to. Another brother and I have served as a home teaching team for 18 years. I am presently serving my 13th mission call. I have served a full time mission for 18 months at the Mormon Trail Pioneer Visitors Center in Omaha, Nebraska, with my wife. I have had the joy of sharing the Book of Mormon with people I have met. I've learned about the Word of Wisdom, eating healthy, abstaining from alcohol and paying tithing. I live these principles because I know they are true. Get a copy of the Book of Mormon and read it for yourself. i hope you find the joy I have found in the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

If you want to know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true, you should get a copy of the Book of Mormon and read it for yourself. Pray and ask Heavenly Father if it is true. I did and I know it is true. Show more Show less
