Hi I'm Matt

I grew up in Utah. I'm a lucky guy. Love climbing trees. Music's my thing. I'm a Mormon missionary.

About Me

I come from a combined family where we've really learned to be united. My "steps" and go together like peanut-butter and jelly. There's nothing like movie night, or roasting marshmallows in the back. Good music is a gift wherever you find it; from Rock to Classical and Jazz to Gospel. Who knows -- I just might take a shot at writing my own. I've participated in various performances at school -- the performing arts are an important part of our culture and an effective way to share good values. I'm always seeking for ways to express myself, and am fascinated by how others choose to do so. Long walks at sunset are the best, especially with close friends. I love this country and the freedoms it provides for me. I'm currently serving a full-time mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm not a Mormon because my parents are. I'm not a Mormon because I was raised Mormon. I'm not a Mormon because I've been conditioned or "programmed" to be -- I'm a Mormon because I choose to be. I know that it is exactly who God wants me to be.

How I live my faith

Being on a mission is, at this time, how I live my faith. As a missionary, I invite others to come unto Christ by sharing the restored gospel, which is the good news that through Jesus Christ, we can all be saved from our sins by following His example. Following the Savior's example is not easy -- it takes honest repentance, and persistently praying for guidance and the strength to get back on your feet after making a mistake. For me, life is a constant battle where so many things are fighting for your love and attention, and the majority of them are dangerous. I'm grateful to have the guidance of a living prophet to keep me safe and to help me devote my time to the things that matter most; like family, school, and choosing an honorable vocation. Because I have a testimony of my Savior, I do my best to surround myself and fill my life with things that are positive and uplifting. Living an honorable life is not boring -- it's the only way to truly live!
