Hi I'm Ray

I'm a CPA and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm happily married for 34 years now and have 5 children, 3 grandchildren (with 2 on the way) and I really enjoy my family. We will send our youngest child off to school this fall (2011) making us empty nesters. I work in the petroleum industry as an accountant and I'm approximately 8 years away from retirement. I enjoy being outdoors. I love to golf (not good at it), hike (very slow at it), fish (not a skilled at fly fishing), and always marvel at the majesty of our world. I'm finally at that point in my life where I don't have to be "good" at something to enjoy it.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ and have chosen to follow him. I've found the doctrines and practices of the LDS Church to be more closely assigned with scripture than the tenets of any other church. John 7:17 states, "If any man will do his will (Jesus Christ), he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself". On a recurring basis I've found that as I strive to follow Christ through the doctrines and tenets of the Mormon Church I come to know with greater understanding and clarity that this is the doctrine of Christ. This doctrine teaches me about the Lord's plan of happiness and outlines those things I need to do during my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending my church meetings each Sunday. I strive to be a good neighbor and treat others the way I'd like to be treated; it's the way our Savior Jesus Christ taught us in the scriptures.
