Hi I'm Matt

I'm a Mormon. I live in Nebraska with my wife and 3 kids. I work as a Family Practice doctor.

About Me

I'm a dad of 3 kids and they are my world. Sometimes I go to work, too, but that just seems like small details. My family is the BEST! Some other hobbies include running, aviation, basketball, tennis, golf, and good food. I play the guitar and sing to my kids often to put them to sleep at night.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon partly because I grew up in the church, and have embraced my heritage. I have stayed a Mormon because I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon and KNOW it is true. It truly is another witness of Jesus Christ, who I accept as my Savior. The Book of Mormon has brought my closer to Him. It tells of real prophets and peoples who had some of the same struggles I have. I rely on Christ to help me through those struggles and be happy. My Church is a big part of my life, and helps me center my thoughts around Christ. I love being a Mormon!!

How I live my faith

At age 20 I spent 2 years as a missionary in Madrid, Spain. My experience there set the tone for my life and what it means to be faithful, serve others, and work through inner personal conflicts. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to serve the Lord through missionary work. Right now, I am helping in the Sunday School at my congregation. My job is to make sure we have teachers for the Sunday School classes and be a support to them. I love the people I work with, and feel good when I am able to serve others. This job includes working a little bit with the youth of the congregation, and is rewarding. My own knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ grows as I occasionally teach these youth.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Matt
For me, God is a real person who somehow knows me very personally. I believe he is all powerful and all knowing but on a much more loving way than we can imagine. I also believe he has a body and we were created in his likeness. I believe he wants us to become like him and his Son Jesus Christ. This goal is one of the purposes of this life. I know it won't happen quickly or all at once, but I work towards it a little at a time. Show more Show less
