Hi I'm Glen

I am the father of eight daughters, grandfather of fifteen, and married to my best friend. I love Family History. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated with an advanced degree in Mathematics from the Univ of Utah with studies also in Physics and French. I developed computer applications during my employment at Ford and Motorola. All eight daughters graduated from Arizona State University. Two shared my interests with one receiving a degree in Math and another in Computer Systems Engineering. As a family we enjoyed many activities growing up together including meals and family time, swimming in our back yard pool, and going on vacations. The girls shared my passion for sports with each one participating in sports in high school. I enjoyed playing softball, basketball, and volleyball. After I retired from full-time employment, I continued enjoying these sports as a paid sports official. My current sports passion is golf. I am able to play at a neighborhood executive course once a week. I enjoy spending time with my wife. We go out on weekly dates and have tried to do this for most of our married life. We enjoy taking vacations together. We still enjoy time with our daughters and their families. I love working to complete my family tree and helping others learn about their Family History.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon growing up in a loving family. We always attended church together which was expected. I was taught about Jesus Christ and His Prophets and Apostles. I was given many opportunities to learn and grow during my childhood and youth. The church was then and is now a very important part of my life. During my young adult years I gained my own personal witness of my faith. I love having living Prophets and Apostles who provide counsel and guidance for my life. I am grateful for my wife and eternal companion and that she and I and our children can be together not only for this life but in the eternities. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints provides great blessings in my life and is the Lord's true church restored in our time through the Prophet Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

I live my faith with the personal worship of studying the scriptures and praying each day to my Father in Heaven. I love to attend church each week participating in worship services, gospel discussions, and singing hymns. Singing hymns helps me feel closer to Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I try to be an example of living how Jesus Christ would have me live by keeping His commandments and looking for ways to help and serve others. I regularly visit and contact two individuals who are incarcerated. I try to help them feel of the Savior’s love. I do my best to love and serve my family, friends, and neighbors. I was a missionary in French Polynesia in the South Pacific for thirty months when I was in my early twenties. That period was a great blessing to me as serving the Lord was my whole focus during that time. My love of the Tahitian people and their language remains an important part of my life. My wife and I will begin serving a full-time mission together soon.
