Hi I'm Blake

I am the youngest of 7 children, I love life and livin it! I am a musician, a student, a missionary &... I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have really had an excellent life. I have much to be grateful for. I have always had a very deep passion for music for my whole life. It has come to be one of the most personal and special hobbies that I participate in. I had the best times of my life throughout high school with my friends and family. After high school, I attended a semester of College near my home. My family and friends are the most important things in my life, second only to the Gospel. I am currently a pre-medical major, but who knows what will really happen. My interests and loves include...everything! Yeah. I am serving a mission right now for the church in San Antonio, TX. It is the greatest decision I ever made. I am a big fan of preaching the Gospel and trying to find ways to help others become blessed by it as I have been in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in an LDS family, for which I am truly blessed and grateful for. However, that is far from the reason why I am a Mormon. I have gained a testimony for myself that this church is true, through a lifetime of living the standards, and seeing the blessings that have come to me through my actions and desires to follow the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ. While I was growing up, I knew that this was good. I knew that church was great and that we needed to obey certain "rules" or commandments. I didn't know why though, and in truth I never even thought about it too much. But the older I got, I desired to know for sure that it was true. My testimony never doubted, but I didn't want to be led in ignorance anymore, and wanted to be a 100% converted Latter Day Saint. So I began to study more, as well as learn more. I started living in obedience consciously. My choices became better, as well as the activities that I was involved in. My relationship with my Heavenly Father became much deeper. After seeing the influence that certain regretable past-times had left on me, compared to the influence and feeling of peace and joy that my new-found lifestyle and choices had, I knew it was true. This may sound interesting, because my conversion wasn't in a single moment. But conversion is not an event. It is something that is gained after much time and much practice of that thing which you desire to become converted to. You can't know something is right unless you have tried it out.

How I live my faith

I participate in many different church activities and hold a few callings. I am currently serving as a missionary for the church. I have been sent here, to San Antonio Texas to preach and testify of the truths of this gospel, and to help others gain their own testimony of the these things as well. A missionary has the greatest calling, because in serving a mission, you devote 2 years of your life to serving the Lord. That is all we are doing for this short time. The growth and gained experience one has on a mission is incomparable to anything else that you could do. Truly a great blessing. Previously to my serving a mission, I taught the youth about the gospel on Sundays at church which was fantastic. I attended the College level Institute as well until I came out here. These experiences were tremendous blessings for me. However, the biggest way I try to live by my faith is by my example (hopefully). The choices you make are crucial, and even if you don't believe it, people are watching what you do. You must emulate the principles and the standards that are taught in the LDS religion every second of the day.
