Hi I'm Melinda

I'm a Mormon. I'm the wife of a wonderful husband, mother of five awesome children and grandmother of two adorable grandchildren.

About Me

I find great joy in my family. My husband and I have been able to raise our five children in beautiful Colorado, surrounded by wonderful people and many opportunities. We have loved spending time together at the lake jet skiing, or supporting each other at numerous sporting events and activities. I enjoy sewing, reading, biking, crafting cards and traveling to beautiful places. My favorite title now is "Grandma", and I love playing with my grandchildren and watching them grow.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ and I want to follow the teachings they have provided for us. I have also learned from experience that following my Savior and His gospel is what brings the greatest joy and happiness to my life. I know that my Heavenly Father has a plan for me; a plan that includes much more than just this life. I love my family very much and want to be with them forever. This in only made possible through Jesus Christ and His gospel and covenants I make. I have learned of His teachings through study and prayer. I feel so blessed to have been able to raise my children with the knowledge I have of the gospel of Jesus Christ. My children have been able to grow up, like I grew up, knowing they too have a Father in Heaven that loves them and a Savior who atoned for them. It has made all the difference in all of our lives.

How I live my faith

I would hope that my life everyday is evidence of my faith and beliefs in my Savior and His gospel. But because I'm human, I do make lots of mistakes along the way. The more I strive each day to align my actions with the things that would emulate Jesus Christ, I notice how it affects my interactions with all I come in contact with. I love serving others and feel that as I am serving others I am serving God. I find joy in serving my family and all those around me. I have been uplifted as I have served side by side with the youth in our church, and in our community for many years. I have been a teacher of youth in a public middle school and for many years on a volunteer basis in my church. It’s amazing how teen-agers can wear you out and invigorate you all at the same time. Their desires to make the world a better place, strengthens me. I know I need to be an example of my faith to the youth in all I do. I find great joy in visiting and helping the elderly and many other wonderful people, and have learned so much from them. I have been greatly blessed in my life, and when I can help others I hope that in some way I can give back for all I have been given.
