Hi I'm Benjamin

I study physics, am an amateur road cyclist and I can wiggle my ears. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a crazy family as the second of eight children where I was taught about work, patience, and love for God. I have always wanted to know the answers to everything; "how" and "why" have always been my favorite questions ever since I was very young. I want to understand the world around me at a basic, fundamental level. I currently study physics in university which helps answer for many of the my questions about our intricate universe.

Why I am a Mormon

One of my favorite activities to do is to look at the stars late at night. I study the patterns in the sky and try to find all the constellations I know. While doing this, I can't help but marvel at all of God's creations, their incomprehensible greatness and glory. While contemplating this, I feel, in comparison, very small, like a miniscule point of life somewhere in the universe. I find it improbable that a being like God with such magnificent power would ever care about someone as flawed and insignificant as me. This is the reason I am a Mormon. The miracle lies in the simple fact that Heavenly Father does love me and that he wants me to be happy and sucessful. Because of this, I love Him back and I want to do the best I can to follow Him throughout my whole life. As I have studied mormonism, I have received answers to my questions and doubts. I have many times received answers directly from Him in ways that surpass all understanding.

How I live my faith

I think the best way I live my faith is trying to be there for other people. It is amazing to me how far a smile or a wave can go. I have come to learn that people more often then not simply need a friend. Although I am not always perfect, I try to be that friend for them. My goal is to greet every single person by name as they come into church on Sundays and make sure they feel welcome and safe.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Benjamin
There is a distinct difference between Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and their servants the prophets. It simply doesn't make sense to worship someone who isn't God. The role of the prophet is to communicate the will and desires of God to the people and provide them leadership and direction against the powers of evil. Show more Show less
