Hi I'm Ben

I am a physician, husband, father of 4 boys, avid runner, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a large LDS family. I later went on a mission in Australia for two years and enjoyed the beautiful country and the good people I served. When I returned home, I found my future sweetheart that a co-worker introduced to me and after a short courtship, got married in the Mesa Arizona Temple. Together we attended college and started our family which continued through my medical training with the blessing of 4 wonderful boys. During my medical residency, I began running and eventually ran a marathon. I was hooked, and have been running consistently for the last 10 years. Today I am busy building my medical practice, being a father and husband, scoutmaster, and runner.

Why I am a Mormon

I was taught about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by my parents who taught me about prayer, prophets, and how the Lord communicates with me through the Holy Ghost. I attended church regularly and participated in Boy Scouts and other youth activities. Throughout my childhood and teenage years, I developed habits of prayer and reading the scriptures. As I matured, I received personal witnesses through the feelings of the Spirit that the teachings of the church and the words of the prophets were true. This gave me the foundation to do as the prophets have asked by keeping the commandments, going on a mission, and preparing to enter the temple. As I served others and made correct choices, the Lord blessed me with a deeper love and desire to follow Jesus Christ. I know he is the Savior of the world and the perfect example to follow. My life has been blessed as I have chosen to follow my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

As a husband and father, I strive to live the teachings of Jesus and show my children, by example, the way to serve others and worship Jesus Christ. I am also the scoutmaster in a troop of 18 boys. We enjoy camping, hiking, and exploring the great outdoors. We are often amazed at the beautiful creations God has made and feel blessed to be able to be so close to the Lord's great workmanship in nature.
