Hi I'm Monica

I am a mother. I am a wife. I am a daughter. I love to read. I love to laugh. I love to eat. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother of four daughters. I have been married for seventeen years. I have a college degree in French, and speak french fluently. I am a member of a book club, and I love reading great books. I love to sew and cook and I spend time with my family. I love walking in the woods and listening to the birds and animals around me. I love moist, foggy, quiet mornings. I love fresh, ripe peaches, Indian food, and all kinds of candy (especially watermelon Jolly Ranchers). I love to laugh, and I don't mind a good cry once in a while, especially if it is because of something sad in a good book or movie. I love the times when my family is together and doing fun and happy things. I love it when we all get along well. I love my Mother, my Father, and my Step-parents. I LOVE my in-laws, and think they are the best people ever! I love my brother and my three sisters very much. I enjoy volleyball, racquetball, running, soccer, badminton, Bananagrams, puzzles, and coooking. I like to do our family's taxes every year, I like to read Charles Dickens. I like to listen to my children play the piano, and I love Vivaldi.

Why I am a Mormon

I am forty-four years old, and I have been a member of the LDS church all my life. I have always felt welcome and safe in the church. I have always felt a strong desire to go to church weekly and to share the gospel with others. I love how living the Gospel of Jesus Christ and obeying the commandments not only bring peace and happiness to me, but make me a better person also! I learn and grow so much as I go through life trying to do what the Savior would have me do. Of course I make mistakes. I am so flawed! Sometimes I am a tired, hungry mother that isn't as patient or kind as I know the Lord wants me to be. But I have grown over the years, and progressed, and become more like I want and should be. I feel that God is my friend, and he is watching out for me. I feel that he cares about the things I care about, simply because he loves me. I know he answers my prayers.

How I live my faith

I try to follow the Savior in my life. His commandments guide me on the path I should go. I am a music leader for the Children's primary. I love to sing with those children so much! I was afraid at first, when I was asked to lead them. I didn't think I could do it. The Lord has inspired and guided me and I have found not only that I can do it, but that I love it, and I am even good at it! We sing songs about Christ and His Gospel. They make me laugh!! I also am privileged to be able to make visits to the homes of three women in my congregation, where I and another woman who is my companion are able to sit and visit with them on an individual basis. We bring a short gospel message, enjoy their company, and become wonderful friends. I have been able to serve these women, and many other women in the past in varying ways, to try to help meet their needs. As the Savior might do if he were in my place. I have been able to: help one hang pictures in her daughter's room, clean a toilet for one who was struggling with the demands of a young family, help clean the house for the family of a recently deceased woman, take meals to new mothers, or those who are struggling with health problems and can't serve her family as she needs to, pack boxes for a sister who is moving, or watch children for one who needs some free time. All these things have helped me to feel love for those women and has brought us closer as friends. I am striving to teach the gospel to my four daughters, aged 11, 13, 15 and 16. It is important to teach the commandments so that they can see for themselves what needs to be done to live a full and happy life that will lead them back to the presence of God and allow us to be together forever.
