Hi I'm Mary

I grew up in New Jersey and I'm a Mormon. There are not a lot of Mormon's in NJ.

About Me

I'm a mom of a wonderful teenage girl who I love very much. My husband and I live in southwest United States among the desert and tumbleweeds. When we can we enjoy the outdoors camping and going for a ride on our ATV's.We've been to many states in the west riding our ATV's with family and friends. A few years ago we went on a 2 week trip traveling to Montana,Wyoming,Idaho, and Utah camping and riding all around. We even spent a few days in YellowStone. When we are home I'm a working mom both in and out of the home, which keeps life busy. Between taking kids to school, piano lessons, church, running a home and working full time life gets hectic. I also enjoy going to the movies, shopping, going out to lunch with friends and reading a good book and just spending time with my family playing a game or just watching a good show together.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up going to church in the Catholic faith. My parents would drag me and my sister and 3 brothers to church every sunday. Saturday night my mom would put rollers in my hair . While going through sunday school there were always questions that my sunday school teacher or the priest could not answer. My husband and I came from different religious backrounds. After we got married we started to investigate other churches. While he was in the Navy he made a friend in his Navy squadron. His friend was Lds and we started to look into the church. My questions were answered that I was asking as a child. LIke where do we go after we die, and how does the trinity work. How can God and Jesus be the same person. When the missionaries explained the Plan of Salvation it all made sense. All my answers and more where answered. We've been in the church for more then 20yrs. We were sealed in the Washington DC temple a year after we joined the church. The church focuses on the family unit and how we can be together forever.

How I live my faith

I've been involved in my daughters school over the years. I've been the PTO president in the school helping in fund raising , the school carnival, helping the teachers in the class room. In church I've done many different callings. I helped with putting together classes for the women in church. Classes were on such things as cooking, learning to make bread, canning, gardening, we did crafts, self help. We would do Spa nites doing manicures, pedicures, facials. Sometime a group of us would go to the movies. I like to help with my family, friends, neighbors or who ever needs help I'm there just give me a call.
