Hi I'm Missy!

I am from Utah. I love reading, I love nature, I love adventures, I love my family, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've lived in Utah all my life. I am currently serving a mission in New Jersey, and I'm loving it! I love reading, especially anything fantasy, like Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings. Though I also love Jane Austen's novels. I love being outdoors, among God's creations and just taking in the clouds, trees and flowers. I especially enjoy rock climbing, hiking and scuba diving. I also enjoy traveling amongst different cultures and geographies. And I love doing things with my hands, whether it be baking, painting Russian nesting dolls, origami, or playing classical guitar. One of my greatest dreams is to learn to play the banjo. Mostly though, I just love being with my family. I love getting together with my brothers and sisters and their gaggle of children. And I know that because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and God's perfect plan for us, that I can have that happiness with them forever:)

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My ancestors were pioneers, and they gave up everything to follow Jesus Christ and His Church. They had to decide whether or not it was true, and so did I. The main reason I'm a member of this Church is because I love my family, and I don't ever want to be separated from them. I've seen when we've lived the principles of Christ's gospel (faith, repentance, baptism, recieving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end), and when we haven't. We've been so much happier when we do live it. I can glimpse eternal happiness when we live it. And I know that Joseph Smith was able to restore this true gospel by the power and instruction of God and Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am currently living my faith by teaching the people of New Jersey about God's plan for each of us. I have previously helped with the youth in my ward, which was so much fun! It was good to talk about the challenges they face today and how they can overcome them through Christ's help. I have loved serving in the Church. I also enjoy living my faith by serving in the community, at museums or for youth programs. Small acts of kindess go a long way too, like smiling at others or helping them around the house or what have you!
