Hi I'm Karen

I work in a grocery store, I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister and I am mormon.

About Me

I am a mother married to a wonderful husband and together we have 7 kids, and 9 grandchildren. I love riding my motorcycle, spending time with my family and going on camping trips with my family. I love to read, play the flute, sing, and dance. I love the Gospel and the blessings I receive from it daily.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert of 9 years. When I was younger, I went to a church with my best friend. Little did I know it was the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We moved away when I was 12 so I did not go anymore. Later in life while I was going thru a divorce, I had missionaries knock on my door and ask me if I would like to hear a message. I invited them in and now I am a member of the true church on this earth today. What I didn't know, was that in my family history, we have many members of the church. My mom was not active, so I was really suprised when I told her I was getting baptised and she told me of how she was a member and that I was blessed in the church and she had my record. How grateful I was to learn that we do not just die and go into the earth, that there is life after death, and we can live with our Heavenly Father again. That there is eternal marriage and eternal families. I am grateful to serve in the Church. I am learning so much. I am grateful that a young boy named Joseph Smith, asked the question if any of the churches on the earth were true and recieved the answer of no. Now he has helped restore the true church for all of us to be able to return to our Father in heaven.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith daily. When I first joined the church 9 years ago, I was down with the little kids teaching them. I was there for the 9 years. I enjoyed it so much. As I was just learning about the church, I was able to learn as a child and be able to grow with my testimony. Now I serve and with the youth and I am blessed with such wonderful young ladies. I am truly blessed with the women I serve with. They show me on a dialy baises of what a rightoues Mother should look and act like. At first I was afraid to share the Gospel. I was afraid people would think I was pushy. But now I share the Gospel any chance I get. It is hard to see your brothers and sisters on this earth struggle in life when you know there is an easier way. Just put Jesus Christ in your life first and he will bless you. I know that without this church and the Lord in my life I would still be struggling today. Not that I don't have struggles today, I can just turn to Heavenly Father and ask for his guidence as I try to do all i can to get thru them. I am grateful to know that I am not alone and that I have Heavenly Father to turn to and ask for his help.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Karen
The Holy Ghost can bless your life in many ways. Christ promised His Apostles that the Holy Ghost would "teach you all things"(John 14:26) and "guide you into all truth" (John 16:13) He also said that the Holy Ghost "shall testify of me"(John 15:26). The Holy Ghost can teach you right from wrong, comfort you, guide you in all things that you do. He can testify to you thru your mind and heart. Almost everyone has felt the Holy ghost at some time. But there is a difference between the occasional influence of the Holy ghost and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost. You can only receive the gift of the the Holy Ghost once you have been baptized and confirmed into Christ's Church. This gift is a privilege of enjoying the constant companionship of the Holy ghost conditional upon keeping the commandments. The Gift of the holy ghost is given when a person is confirmed a member of the Church after baptism by someone having priesthood authority from God. It is given by the person having authority laying their hands upon the head of the person who was baptized and giving them a blessing to receive the Holy Ghost (Acts 8:14-18). Whether or not we then receive this great gift depends on our keeping the commandments of God. I testify that the Holy Ghost has blessed my life and will bless your life as you turn to our Heavenly Father and search for the truth. Show more Show less
