Hi I'm Brian

I like pizza, mountain biking, and root beer all together and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work in the software industry designing solutions for CPA's and other financial professionals. I'm married to a beautiful woman and we have five children. My children bring me a lot of joy and satisfaction in life. I'm responsible for helping them grow and develop as individuals. The church provides so much help in that area as it provides service, learning, and fun activities for them. As a family, we try to have some time together each day where we read the scriptures and just to talk about what we learn. Then we usually take some time to just talk about whatever. Relationships go downhill quickly if you don't take time to nurture them. Raising a family is tough in today's world but with God's help, faith, and the support system the church provides, it is definitely doable.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church but in my teenage years, I had to find out for myself that it was true. I read the Book of Mormon cover to cover and prayed to know if it was true. I had an overwhelming feeling of peace and joy come over me and from then on I knew it was true. I served as a missionary for the church for 2 years in Brazil and that further strengthened my testimony and commitment to the church. Working in Brazil, I saw so many cases where the church helped people change their lives for the better. I also saw so much sorrow from people making poor decisions. Christ is there for us all. We just need to do what we can to go to him. That can be as simple as saying a prayer, humbling yourself and asking for forgiveness.

How I live my faith

I volunteer my time serving as an assistant scoutmaster for a group of 12-13 year old boys. These boys have a lot of energy and are fun to be with. We spend time in the outdoors camping, hiking, fishing, shooting, and playing with fire! God created this earth for us and when kids get exposed to it, they recognize its beauty and the importance of taking care of it. It's great also to see kids responding to challenging situations like a long backpacking trip and how they grow from it.
