Hi I'm Laurie

I'm a Mormon, through and through.

About Me

I am dedicated to my family, I love my husband, admire my children (including their spouses), adore my grandchildren and appreciate our parents and siblings. I guess you can tell where my heart lies. Now that my children are grown, I found myself wondering who needed me, so I found a job. I worked for the census and as a pharmacy tech for Walmart's Pharmacy. I am currently packing my bags to head of to the Caribbean on an 18 month mission. I am excited to serve the Lord in a new place with new friends. I hope to express the sweetness of the gospel and the reassurance of forever families.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised with the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In my early teen years I began to question the reality of prophets and the Book of Mormon and I turned to those I trusted who gave me their answers. Then I turned to the Lord in prayer and received my own assurances. Since that time I have allowed the Spirit of the Lord to teach and testify to me whenever possible that which is true and right. I have had my testimony strengthened and confirmed over and over again. I love that the Holy Ghost can teach us often and repeatedly, that those feelings of peace and truth come again and again. I know I am a child of God, that he loves me and watches over me and guides me. I know that we are all God's children and I consider us all as family. I know there is a plan wherein we can return to live with God again. I know that only because Jesus Christ came to atone for us and overcome the grave can we be made worthy of living with God. I know that I need a Savior and I am eternally grateful that God sent His only begotten Son to save us all. I am a Mormon because The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His organization on earth to help me learn and grow.

How I live my faith

I find great joy in serving others. I love to lighten others load and brighten their days. I have had lots of responsibilities in the church that have allowed me to do just that. One of the most rewarding is the calling to teach early morning seminary. I teach the teenagers in our area, every day before school, about the things we read in the scriptures. This year we are studying the Old Testament and each year the course of study changes but each day the spirit touches our hearts and minds and together we become a little better at living the way the Savior taught us to live.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Laurie
We will fall short of the glory of God no matter how hard we try to be good and true. I think bad thoughts, and say mean things, and I am selfish sometimes. There is no way back to His presence without a Savior and Redeemer, who is our Lord Jesus Christ. God sent His Son to redeem the world that we might be saved. That is the grace of God. And everything we have and are come as blessings from Him who is our Father. We also believe that there are blessings and promises that come from being obedient, therefore we receive more help and grace through our doing good works. Show more Show less
