Hi I'm Ashley

I'm from Idaho Falls, Idaho and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family has moved about 8 different times since I was born and have lived in 6 different states, so we've gotten to experience situations where there were a lot of Mormons and some where there weren't a lot. I'm the 2nd of 5 kids in my family. I am currently attending Brigham Young University-Idaho in Rexburg, Idaho and I'm studying to become a high school math teacher. I hope to graduate within the next couple years.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and was baptized at age 8 like most LDS kids are. My parents have taught me the principles of this gospel throughout my life. I have also been taught at church and in many other places. I am a Mormon (Latter-day Saint) because I know that this gopsel is the true gospel. I know that our Heavenly Father lives and I know that Christ lives. I know that Christ gave His life for all of us so that we could make it back to their presence and live with them again for eternity. I know that the importance of the family is so great. I know that if we live righteously and are sealed in the temple, that we can live together forever. I am so excited to one day get married and be sealed to my future spouse. I am striving to be the best that I can be so that I can be worthy to enter into that holy place. I know that everyone has a chance to accept this gospel and to become a part of it. I know that our Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us so much and that He wants the best for all of us. Being a member of this great church means a very great deal to me. I don't know where I would be if I wasn't a part of it. I am so grateful for my family and my friends who are there to comfort me and support me when I need it. I am so grateful for Christ and His willingness to give His life so that we could be forgiven. I love Him and our Heavenly Father so much.

How I live my faith

This semester at BYU-Idaho, I served as the first counselor in the presidency of our women's organization. I also served as a visiting teacher to two other sisters in our ward.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Ashley
The money that we, as Mormons, give to our church is used to help the church grow in a variety of ways. It helps for the costs of constructing temples, church meetinghouses, and other church buildings. It also helps fund the missionary program and helps people pay for their education. There are so many other things that we as a church can pay for because of the tithing that we pay. Show more Show less
