Hi I'm Kamaron

I've known a lot of different people, tried my best to rock whatever I do, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up without being around many other Mormons, but I loved it. I played marimba for band through high school and swam too, and still love to do both. I met a lot of different people being in those two circles, and still really enjoy meeting different people that normally would never be friends together. After high school, I went to college studying Computer Science and Business, and am fascinated by the topic of learning and how it happens. I love my family, all 8 of them, and I love my friends too, they're family to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon church, and raised in a pretty active family. Hardly any of my friends growing up were Mormon, I'd say maybe 3 or 4 of my really close friends of everybody I've known and loved are Mormon. I wasn't always a Mormon because I knew the church was true - because I didn't always know. I was Mormon because it made my life fantastic. I could appreciate all of the blessings God has given me, and when the day came that I truly began to believe the church was true, it was like seeing the world in a whole new way. All of history, all of my history, all of my present, everything seemed to testify of how God loves me. I testify that God is there, even if sometimes he is watching from just out of sight, He is there and he loves us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by practicing what I preach, following the commandments and setting my standards where I know that God will approve of what I'm doing. I love others the best I can and never want anybody to think that I don't appreciate them or want to be their friend. I reach out to those around me and follow the commandment to "love thy neighbor as thyself." My goal is to make my corner of the world better than the way I found it.

What is being a Mormon like?

Kamaron
Pretty sweet. It kept me on a good path growing up, I am really close to my family and have good values now. I never really made mess-ups in high school, and at the time some of our standards seemed like roadblocks to my social life but in hindsight really they kept me on the path I wanted to be on. But that's not the best thing about it. The best thing about being Mormon is my knowledge of the Plan of Salvation and the sense of direction it gives. Right now, I am rockin' good ol' Kamaron Peterson, doing what I love and enjoying every minute of it. But I have an ultimate goal in sight - I want to return to live with my heavenly father, and have lots of learning to get there. Heaven isn't some far-off goal for me - it's a day-by-day goal. Something I'm always trying to move towards. What I do here will carry with me, in terms of intellectual development and spiritual progression, even though my money and possessions can't follow me that's just fine by me, I'll have my family and my personality to work on. It makes the afterlife make sense, and seem very real. Humbling, really. Show more Show less
