Hi I'm Mac

I have two great kids and a gorgeous wife. I love sports and out door recreation. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

A little about me, I love to go hiking and exploring in the mountains. I also love to fish and snowboard and bike. That is why i live near the Rockies. I have two unbelievably busy kids that like to go for bike rides and to the swimming pool. I'm definitely not a perfect parent, but I am going to keep working at it.

Why I am a Mormon

When I read the scriptures, I feel inside of my heart that they are true. Just like every Christian, I want to be a member of a Bible-based church. Yet in my reading of the Bible, there are several doctrines that I could support from scripture and come up with two different answers. So referring only to the Bible is not a complete answer. The Lord did make a few themes clear in scripture, Old and New Testament: God can and will send prophets and apostles. God can add new scripture. The temple (or tabernacle) had a central role in worship. God sent Moses and our Lord, Jesus Christ, not to destroy the former way of worship, but to restore things that had been lost over time and give some much needed direction. I find each of those Bible-based elements in this church. So what has God done in our day and time to help guide us and how can we know that is true? In our day, God has called a prophet to give us direction just like he did in ancient times. How I know it is true is by applying the words of James: "If any...lack wisdom, let him ask of God." In a way that is difficult for me to describe but completely real to me, I have come to know that God is real and that he has restored the office of prophet to the earth in this church and added some great new scripture. I know that simply because I asked Him. And He answered.

How I live my faith

Currently, I work with the Cub Scout program. We take the kids biking and to the fire station. We work on art and music belt loops. It is definitely a lot of fun because we get to have a good time and set a great example for the next generation.
