Hi I'm Bruce

I grew up in California and Colorado. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I worked as a computer programmer for many years then switched professions to be an accountant and prepare income tax returns. I enjoy volunteering for the Boys Scouts of America. I am the father of 6 children. My family is my hobby.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are members of the Mormon church. My mother joined when she was in her late teens. On my father's side the parents have been Mormons for a 3 generations. Growing up I enjoyed going to church and gained an appreciation of the good things that were taught to me and how they could lead me to have a happy life. In my late teens, I gained a testimony that the Mormon church is true. I read the Book of Mormon and received a powerful witness that it is true. I know that Christ is my Savior and that the Bible is the word of God. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he received many revelations while restoring Christ Church on the earth. I know that there is a living prophet today who communicates with our Father in Heaven and receives guidance that helps us in our lives. I have felt so much joy in my life by being a member of this church and following its precepts.

How I live my faith

To live my faith, I try to attend all the meetings and activities that the church provides for us. I find that this builds my faith and that I grow closer to the other members of our church. It also helps me to learn more about Jesus Christ and what I need to do to live with him in the hereafter. The church also provides opportunities to serve. Over the years, i have been primarily involved with the youth, teaching them on Sundays and attending activities with them during the week. I have served as a Scout Master four different times. I enjoy serving the youth and helping them to learn righteous principals that will guide them through their lives. I have also served as a Financial Clerk with responsibilities over 9 units of the church.

How does the Church finance its operations?

I have worked with the finances of the church and find the handling of the church funds to be a sacred duty. The church is very careful to protect the funds and those who work with them. Guidelines have been established and safeguards put into place. The funds are used to help the poor, build and maintain temples and church facilities. The tithes of the church are also used to fund all the activities in the church. The funds are also used to support the world wide missionary effort of the church. None of the funds are used to pay our local church leaders. They serve with out monetary compensation. Show more Show less
