Hi I'm Michael

I grew up in Italy. I was raised by loving parents who taught me to work hard and love the Lord. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family. My life is devoted to them and everything I've accomplished has been for them. Though I could not have succeeded half so well without the support of my wife. I love my wife, she is the life of the party. She is my best friend, my greatest supporter, and the love of my life. I love spending time with her. I love walking, running, biking, hiking, fishing and even shopping once in a while. But what I love the most is spending time at home working in our garden with my wife and kids. I immigrated in United States in 1998. I did not speak the language but I was eager to learn. Six months later I was able to pass the high school Graduate Equivalency Degree and in 2001 I was able to start college. I am the first one in my family to graduate from college. And now I am a structural engineer. I design bridges and review bridge construction plans. I love the work I do, it provides well for our family and it makes me feel I am a contributing member of my community. I feel it's important that what I do effect others for good. I like to keep things at work and at home clean and organized. Whenever my wife misplaces anything she always knows that I can invariably find it for her. My wife often calls me the ultimate organizer. Often I change how things are arranged in our home to see if there is a more efficient way to use our space. Which might explain her slight irritation at not being able to find things around the house.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in Italy I always was the only Mormon in my school and later in the work place. Even though I was alone and I did not really fit in, I never questioned why I was a Mormon. I knew down deep in my heart from a very young age that God was the author of this religion. I could not bring myself to deny it or to depart from it. I was fortunate because I always found people that respected me for who I was and what I believed. Often I was asked why I lived my life the way I did, and I often answered that I knew that God wanted me to live my life according to the principles I was taught in the Mormon Church. To me it was important to be true to the faith my parents taught me and true to my Father in Heaven that I knew trusted me. I am a Mormon because I found evidence of the truthfulness of this Church by testing the tenets of the gospel and receiving its good fruits into my life. I am a Mormon because I find evidence in the scriptures that this Church is organized the way it was organized by the Savior Himself when he was upon this hearth. I am a Mormon because I understand that we need prophets today like in the days of old. I am a Mormon because I received many witnesses in my heart that this is the Church of Jesus Christ and he is the author of it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be more like Jesus. Jesus went about to do good, and in my small ways I try to do the same by serving others in my church and in my community. The Church make it easy to serve as there is always need for volunteers in various church functions. However, at this stage in my life perhaps my greatest contribution to the community is how I raise my children and this is an extension of my faith. I teach my children the importance of being honest and virtuous. I show by word and example the importance of family time, reading the scriptures, and personal prayer. I live my faith by doing what I believe God would want me to do. I read the scriptures every day, I pray often, I go to Church every Sunday and I am involved during the week days doing Church work by ministering to adult members of our area.
