Hi I'm Paul

I am married and the father of four children. I am an executive for a retail business. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Outside of work, I spend most of my recreation time with my wife and children. We love helping our neighbors, friends and family whenever the need arises. I really enjoy traveling, spending time in the mountains hiking, fishing and observing wildlife. I also enjoy music. I am a pianist, a violinist, a bassist and a I also play the musical saw. I am also a foodie and love to cook and BBQ.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel blessed to have been born into a family who were multi-generational members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons). As I became a teenager and began to wonder if the teachings were true, I simply prayed in faith and pled with Heavenly Father to help me know if the things I had been taught were true. I had an overwhelming and warm feeling within that confirmed that this is the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus is the Christ. He is my Savior and Redeemer and I love Him. I know He atoned for my sins and that through repentance and a commitment to living His teachings, I am cleansed and feel the joy of being at peace with God and myself. I also testify that the fulness of the gospel was restored in these the latter-days by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I have read the Book of Mormon, another testament of Jesus Christ, and know that it truly does bear witness of Christ. The Bible and the Book of Mormon give a clearer perspective of our purpose in life and the mission of Jesus Christ. The scriptures also teach us how to avoid the mistakes that others made in the past that only resulted in their sorrow. I also know that the priesthood has also been restored and it allows for all of the ordinances to be performed by those with proper authority. These ordinances allow us the privilege of returning home to a loving Father in Heaven who desires that all of His children return to him. The gospel teaches us our purpose in life, why we are here and what our potential is. In a world where there is so much confusion and frustration, I am thankful that I have this knowledge. This knowledge allows me to help my family as they cope with the challenges of life and look for direction and guidance from me, their husband and father. I am so grateful that we have a living prophet today to guide us and direct us. The windows of heaven have re-opened and revelation flows to His Prophet, Seer and Revelator today.

How I live my faith

One of the most gratifying ways I choose to spend my time is in the service of others. I have served as a leader in Boy Scouts. As a youth, I earned my Eagle Scout award and I have deep gratitude for the leaders I had that sacrificed their time in my behalf. The least I can do is help others on that path. I have also enjoyed serving the community as a Chamber of Commerce board member, serving on the Hospital Foundation Board, as a member of the Rotary Club and on an advisory board for a local community college. Currently at church, I have the responsibility for overseeing the home teaching program for many families in our congregation as wll as coordinating the efforts of family history work. It is such a blessing to interact with others and work toward common goals and objectives. We work diligently to strengthen one another and bear one anothers burdens. Serving others with no thought of reward or recognition has been one of the greatest blessings of my life.
