Hi I'm Steve

I have been a Mormon for almost 37 years...

About Me

My wife and I are empty nesters with children and grandchildren in London (UK), Georgia, and Arizona. I have two horses, Mona an Appaloosa mare, and Ursula a Tennesee Walker mare. I like to stay fit by riding, weight lifting, and running long distance races. I work at our local hospital in an adminstrative/managerial role and own my own small software company. We currently live in southwest Nebraska and love the weather and the great people. My wife and I both grew up in Illinois, but prefer the much dryer and warmer climate here. We like to travel to Colorado often where we visit other family members, do our shopping, and go to the temple.

Why I am a Mormon

I had been raised in the Baptist religion but when I met my wife of almost 37 years and went out on our first date we got to talking about religion and both decided that we needed to figure out which church was "right"...a strange conversation for a first date. However, this church has helped us answer that very important question. We both discovered through our investigation that this church has the original priesthood authority from Jesus Christ that was given to the Apostles of old and we recognized that it truely was His original church that had been restored again. That's what we were looking for...

How I live my faith

As we have tried to live the laws and commandments of Jesus Christ over the years, our lives have been blessed beyond measure and our children/grandchildren have grown up to be wonderful examples of Christian living in their various communities. I have served in many capacities in our Church including Boy Scout leader, clerk of finances in our congregation, and two times as the lay minister of our congregation which we call a Branch President or Bishop. This service is voluntary (without compensation) and compares to the minister/pastor/Bishop of Protestant/Catholic congregations. We also love to travel to the Temple where we have been sealed as an eternal family through the authority of the Holy Priesthood that Jesus Christ holds. We can also perform important ordinances for our ancestors in the Temple that will give them the choice to have the same blessings of Church membership that we enjoy. We truly believe that the best way to find out about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is to ask the members of the Church or its missionaries. We are always more than happy to answer any questions!
