Hi I'm Carl

I grew up Utah but didn't become active in the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS until I graduated from College. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of 8 childrend and grandfather of 25 grandchildren. I have been married for 46 years. I have a Master's Degree in Accounting and worked in the mining industry for 28 years and I am now partially retired. I served in the military (Army Artillery Corp) during the Vietnam War and was a Captain on discharge. I enjoy work, reading, yard work, genealogy, and community service.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon but an inactive one. During my senior year in college it was the testimonies of a number of different people that incouraged me to become active. The one doctrine of the Gospel that had the biggest draw and impact on me was that of eternal families. The declaration of my faith and belief in Jesus Christ and His Gospel is a major part in defining who I have become. Over the years I have fasted and prayed many times to know the truth of the religion I profess. I have had many answers in different ways that tends to fortify my belief. I love the scriptures and as I read them I receive a witness from the Holy Ghost that what I am reading is true. I know of the reality of Jesus Christ and of my Father in Heaven. I testify of Their redeeming love and the power to save me as I repent and keep covenants that I have made. I have studied the lives of every latter-day prophet and am amazed at who they became with the power of God. I have had revealed to me, time and time again, as I have read their words that they were and are called of God. I can say without a doubt that Joseph Smith Junior did in fact see God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ and was called to retore the Gospel in its fullness, which included brining forth of the Book of Mormon through miraculous means. My life has been better whenever I follow the council of the prophets from all dispensations and generations. The Plan which our Father in Heaven has laid out is for my betterment. I believe that I am a better person because of my faith and I am able to meet the challenges of this life in a positive way because my Savior makes my burdens lite.

How I live my faith

I just completed 2 1/2 years of welfare community service in what could be called a food bank which was very fulfilling in being able to be the Savior's hands in helping those in need. I served 4 years as an officer in a local genealocal society. I find great joy in working in the Temple of our God. I was recently called as an employment specialist helping those in our community who are out of work and seeking employment or upgrading their current employment.
