Hi I'm Mike

I'm a late-in-life convert to the Mormon church.

About Me

I am a retired Navy SEAL. I also have retired from the Customs and Border Protection Service. I have always been very physically active; enjoying golf, swimming, yard work, and other outdoor activities. I have been married for 39 years, have 2 children (a girl and a boy), 2 grandchildren with another on the way.

Why I am a Mormon

Even as a child I knew there was more to this life than being born, living, then dieing. I also knew that there was a God and that Christ was our Savior. What I couldn't find was a church or religion that could fill in the rest of the blanks. When I started attending the LDS Chruch, I started hearing some of those answers. But I had a hard time buying into the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. A wise freind and the Branch President of the branch in the little town I live prompted me to ask with sincerity, what the truth was. I did and received a very dramatic answer. This caused me to be baptized and start down my road to understanding. However, I guess I was still searching for confirmation, because several months later, while at work, I received an incredible feeling - like a voice - telling me and asking the following - "you are my disciple, when are you going to act like it. From that day til now I have tried my best to be a true disciple of my Savior. From then til now I have known the Chuurch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's true church re-established upon the earth today.

How I live my faith

I try to do the things the Savior told us that His gospel is: loving God with all my heart, mind and spirit. Loving our Savior and following His teachings. Loving my fellow men (and women). Praying to our Fahter in Heaven in the name of Jesus Christ, reading the scriptures daily, attending my meetings and doing all that I can do to build up the kingdom of God on the earth. I attend the temple regularly where saving ordinances are performed for those that have passed on. I listen to the council of my leaders, especially the Prophet and President of the Church. I try to be the best person I can be and never miss an opportunity to share the Gospel, my testimony and my personal experience with those I come in contact.
