Hi I'm Ether

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I absolutely love music! Its my life and inspiration in so many things. I love singing, playing guitar, piano, violin, trombone, and the tuba. I have always tried to keep myself involved in all of my musical activities at school, church, and local places around town. I hope to start going to school and study either Music, Journalism, or Spanish. I served a full-time mission in Colombia for 2 years and learned to love service and people so much more. I also love hanging out with family and friends, photography, running, swimming, watching movies, and serving others in anyway I can. My plans are finding a job, going to school, and getting married in the temple with my true love.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since I was born. My Mom is from Nebraska, where she was born into a catholic family, but at the age of 23 she was converted to the Church and became a missionary in the Philippines, where she met my Dad (who is from the Philippines) while he was also serving a mission there. They got married about a year after they served their mission and moved back to the States to live and raise my family. I am the firstborn out of 6 siblings in my family. My name is Ether because my parents named me after one of the Book of Mormon prophets. Even though I was born and raised into the Church, it didn't mean that I was forced to live this life as a Latter-Day Saint because of my family. I am a Mormon because I want to be. I have received a testimony that the Gospel of Jesus Christ blesses all of our lives with happiness and strength to go through trials and afflictions that we all normally have in our everyday lives. We have a loving Heavenly Father who knows us so well and watches out for us every second. His Son Jesus Christ came on Earth to teach us, give us a helping hand, die for us, and then resurrect on the third day so that one day we may return to live with them. I know this personally ever since I knelt down in prayer when I was a early teenager and asked Heavenly Father if what the Book of Mormon teaches is true. I felt warmth and assurance that what I was asking was right, and that it was something I could never turn away from. I felt then that I had a purpose in life and that making Christ a part of it would make it so much more meaningful and happier. Ever since then I have never been happier or have found anything that makes me feel more joyful than the Gospel. I am so grateful for all the blessings and knowlegde I receive everyday.

How I live my faith

For me, being a member of the Church helps me understand how to appreciate and live a life full of service. At church, you are given many opportunities to serve through callings. My calling are being a Ward Missionary and a Gospel Doctrine Teacher, where I get to go out with the missionaries to preach the Gospel to others and teach lessons from the scriptures and share spiritual insights in Sunday School every week. In our Ward church group we always have fun activities that we plan, whether they are roadtrips to historical sites, playing sports, potlucks, or bonfires. Its a way to get to know lots of people and become friends and strengthen each other spiritually always starting or ending an activity with a devotional.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Ether
The missionaries aka Elders or Sisters will talk to you all about what we believe in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They are there to answer all of your questions and teach you about how the Gospel of Jesus Christ can bless and strengthen the life of you and your family. They are trustworthy, kind, responisble, and charitible servants of the Lord called and dedicated to serve 2 years of their lives to find those that are willing to hear the message that we share. They will be more than happy to be welcomed into your home and share their testimonies of the truthfulness of the Gospel, and how it has been restored through the prophet Joseph Smith, and what the Book of Mormon is all about.
