Hi I'm Trent

I'm a husband, a college student, a gun enthusiast, a computer techie, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the newly wed husband to a beautiful wife, I am an avid shooter and hunter, I'm currently going to school for a degree in technological entrepreneurship and management, I love to make people laugh, I'm an uncle, and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but I didn't always believe in the truthfulness of the gospel. My parents divorced when I was really little and my mom was pretty much out of the picture. My Dad worked as a construction worker and usually didn't make enough for me and my five siblings. I really didn't have anybody watching out for me and so I wandered quite a bit. Much like a child lost in the dark I soon found things more harmful than good. I was doing terrible in school and getting into all kinds of trouble out of it. I had no self esteem and zero self worth. At sixteen years old, I was a very angry and depressed young man. I was angry with my parents for my underprivileged upbringing. I hated myself for the mistakes I had made along the way and I was consumed with jealousy of others happiness. Right near the breaking point of my tolerance my aunt and uncle offered to take me and my older brother, hoping a change in state and friends would help me see all my blessings. It was that first summer, with them, that I went on a church retreat with other youth. My leaders there encouraged us to come to know for ourselves if the gospel of Jesus Christ was true and if it was, to act on that truth. I took their challenge and went and prayed in seclusion to a God I had never spoken to before. I asked if the Book of Mormon was true, if God was real and if he cared or even knew who I was. The answer to my prayer was a yes, it was an feeling of unquestionable divinity and truth. I felt a love wash over me that could only belong that of our Heavenly Father. I was told that I was worth much much more than my current state and that if I heeded his counsel he would get me to my greatest potential. Since then I have experienced the blessings of repentance and forgiveness, had many more profound and precious spiritual experiences, and all because I was willing to ask one humble and simple question to an all loving God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving those around me. I feel Heavenly Fathers love for me strongest when I follow the example of our savior, Jesus Christ, and help those who are in need. I've learned to love my family and friends with all my heart and that by loving those around me I can come to know Heavenly Father and our Savior better.
