Hi I'm Aaron

I enjoy reading. I study Civil Engineering. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am going to school right now, majoring in Civil Engineering. Right now, I'm excited to be getting married, though by the time you read this, chances are I'm already 'newlywed.' I've enjoyed a lot of different hobbies, from keeping an aquarium, to photography, to dabbling in mechanics, and I even made some chainmail (the medieval knight's armor) a while back. I volunteer for a museum in my city where they keep a streetcar (some also call them trolleys) from the 1920's running, and I'm learning how to maintain it.

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before they met, but they're both the only members in their respective families. They met and married, and then I was born and raised in the Church. But, as with everyone, I remember when I was younger I had to figure out for myself if what my parents believed is true. I remember thinking "If it is, then I'd better keep my life clean, live what has been taught to me. If it isn't, living it for a little while longer isn't going to hurt me. But either way, it'd be good to get a decision soon." I went and searched on my own, I read the Book of Mormon and prayed. I remember I was about halfway through the book when I felt the Holy Ghost testify to me, and witness to me the truth of the Restored Gospel. I then knew it was true, and I later came to realize that my decision to keep the commandments while I was searching really helped me to feel the spirit. It wasn't right away, I'd even been raised in the church, but when I started earnestly seeking is when an answer soon came. I know that the Book of Mormon is God's word, that it testifies of the Bible and its truth, and I know that Jesus Christ is my Lord and my Savior. I know because of the testimony I've gotten through the scriptures and through the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

There's a few ways that I live my faith. One thing that's really important to me and the gospel is family. I've been really blessed to have a father and mother who really love me and care for me. They've been there for me, even when I'm struggling with some trouble or difficulty. Sure, we get stressed at each other once in a while (or even more than just once in a while!) but who is perfect? My dad has always encouraged and strengthened me in my endeavors, whether wrestling in high school or when I started a swing dance club in high school, he's been very supportive. I hope to emulate his example as I get to that stage in my life. I'm excited to be married soon to a wonderful, beautiful woman, and she's been very supportive so far in our courtship. I think one of the best things I can do to live my faith is to strengthen my family and my family member's faith in Jesus Christ.
