Hi I'm Mike

I love French cuisine, foreign languages, and my family (albeit not always in that order). I'm an avid notaphilist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I went to college and earned my Degree in International Relations. I've been working in the Hospitality Industry for a few years now. I'm a husband and father of 2. I love trying new foods and I learning about different cultures. I'm an avid notaphilist and I've collected paper money from around the world since I was 8 years old. I love sports and especially basketball and football. On the weekends, I enjoy swimming, camping, BBQs, music, and hanging out with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because what I read about in the Bible (things such as temples, prophets, apostles, etc...) are found in this church. These are all nuggets of truth that a sincere truth seeker would expect to find in a church professing Christ's name. I really like how the prophet and apostles in the church receive modern revelation about our day and age. This revelation they share with the church and it really benefits my life and the lives of millions of others. These church leaders also testify of the life and mission of Jesus Christ- of his divinity as Son of God and Savior of mankind. It makes sense that if God would lead his people through prophets in the past that he would continue to do so today. Also, I'm a Mormon because of how this church is financially structured. From the Bible we learn we should pay tithes and offerings. I have non-Mormon friends who get upset paying money to fund their pastor's red sports car. In this church, we do pay tithing & fast offerings. However, no leader, no church member, nor anyone else profits from these donations. These donations go towards construction of churches and temples, towards education, towards amazing humanitarian efforts, and a host of other good causes. Instead of getting paid for church service, every church member from the recent convert to the prophet of the church volunteers of his/her time and talents. People criticize the church for being too wealthy- well that's why- no one gets paid. Spiritually this church makes sense. Financially this church makes sense. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? Well, I'm convinced the best way to live your faith is by following the best example- Jesus Christ. There's a children's church song called, "I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus." It's my favorite church song because it sums up how I try to live every aspect of my life (IE. Work, family life, marriage, friends, etc...).
