Hi I'm Matt

I am the father of 3, a husband, a Mechanical Engineer and a Mormon

About Me

I am a very busy father of 3 small children. I am the sole provider for a family of 5. I work very hard at the office, workout at the gym, come home to be the father and husband my family needs and then wake up the next day to do it again. When I have time to myself I enjoy elk hunting, shooting and other hobbies. lately I have been picking up blacksmithing as a hobby. I love softening that hard steel and making something beautiful out of it.

Why I am a Mormon

As I follow the teachings of the Mormon church I feel a close and loving relationship with God. He speaks to me, comforts me and guides me. On my own I seem to achieve very little, however when I turn to God for help and ask Jesus Christ to make up for my shortcomings their seems to be no limit to what I can accomplish at home, at church and in my carrier. The lifestyle of giving of myself and sacrificing personal time seems so small compared to what God gives me in return.

How I live my faith

I live my religion by being honest, kind to others, a good father and husband. When it comes to work I am aggressive and competitive but I try to do things in a way that helps people around me and makes the world a better place for others. All the other stuff I do to follow my religion is their to help me be this kind of person. I usually start my morning with prayer and study. I study the Book of Mormon on some days and the King James Bible on others. I pray many times a day. I go to church on Sunday and go to the temple several times a year. I pay 10% of my income to the church in tithing, abstain from alcohol and tobacco and am faithful to my wife. I give of my time to serve in our church. We have an organization for men from age 18 to middle age. I am a part of the comity that organizes this group for our local congregation.
