Hi I'm Covey and Melody

We love the Midwest. We enjoy jump roping and biking. We love our little baby. We're Mormons.

About Me

Covey and I are the parents of a cute, chubby-cheeked 5-month old boy. We LOVE being parents even though we find it difficult to get a full night's rest and time to ourselves. Covey and I met in college while on a double dutch jump rope team. We love being active, but we also love spending time at home relaxing. We enjoy going on walks, swimming, and dreaming about one day getting a nice couch;)

Why I am a Mormon

We love being members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it gives us a sense of direction. Life is hard, but with a knowledge of where we came from, the purpose of life, and where we're going after death helps us in our daily activities. We are able to make decisions with a sense of peace because we know that our Heavenly Father will take care of us. We know that our Heavenly Father loves us and He wants what is best for us. Studying and living the principles from the Bible and Book of Mormon have brought us closer together as a family and to our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are so grateful for our many blessings. We know that when we do the Lord's will, we will be given the strength to keep moving forward, and the hope that one day we can return and live with our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and our families for eternity.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon isn't just a one-day-a-week commitment. It is a lifestyle. Covey and I attend church for three hours every Sunday. Some Sundays we're assigned to give a 10 minute talk to our congregation on topics such as the scriptures, faith, baptism, repentance, etc. Sometimes we are asked to teach lessons to the youth, new members, or even little three year olds. Each month we visit people and help them with various projects or just chat to get to know them better. We pray and read scriptures as a family and individually daily, and we also have weekly family activities that help us grow closer together and allow us to get to know each other better. All of these things might sound exhausting, but honestly it is the only way that our busy little family makes it through the day. These are the things that bring us peace of mind and give us the direction we need in order to make life worth living for.
