Hi I'm Macquel

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student, I am in my last year of dental hygiene school here in Denver. I love this profession and am excited to go into the workforce, taking care of people and educating people and getting involved in public health. My true loves are in the colorado outdoors: hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, snowshoeing, boating on the lakes pretty much anything where I can view and enjoy the wonderful Colorado weather and scenery. There are so many nooks and crannys that go undiscovered unless you put your body there and see it for yourself. I also enjoy the beauty of things, I love decorating my home and even the outifts I wear day to day. I love "Do-It-Yourself" projects, and learning how to do new things to make myself more self-sufficient. I love my family with all my heart, and am blessed to live so close to my family, and to be married to the love of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Because having the light of Christ in my life makes me feel so GOOD. With this Gospel, I can get "warm fuzzies" daily as I read the Book of Mormon, and have a close relationship with my Heavenly Father. Although life isn't always easy, when the tough times come around, this Gospel has given me the knowledge and faith that trials come around for a reason, and there are ways to learn and grow through everything, and there is always someone to turn to. Falling to my knees and crying to my Heavenly Father has provided me with so much comfort, strength, and testimony.

How I live my faith

I work with the youth of the church. I am a leader for the young women ages 12-18 and I absolutely adore them. They are my best buddies, and I have so much fun with their pure, youthful spirits; I get to be with at least a couple of times a week. Although it is fun to give them advice and guide them and pray for them, it's really them who teach me and I have gotten so much strength through their sweet energy. The youth of this world are faced with so many challenges and so much adversity, it's great that they have a place to come to each and every week and have a solid group of girls their age, with leaders that they can go to and have such strong friendships and good, clean, silly, wholesome fun. I live my faith through creating and experiencing these moments, showing that there is a way to have fun in this viscous world without compromising their integrity. How great it is that I have come to realize that Jesus Christ has a Plan of Happiness, and that happiness comes through following His example, being like Him, and striving to return to Him. This plan of happiness includes our families and our friends and our career and our hobbies and our religion, and the more we strive to be like him, the more blessings and happiness we will feel.
