Hi I'm Brennen

I have lived in 14 houses, 10 cities, and 5 states, I'm the oldest of 4 kids , and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have lived all over the west coast, including Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Washington, and California. I'm the oldest in my family and am definitaly the favorite :D. I love reading, video games, movies, and spending time with friends. I worked at a movie theater all through high school and am now getting ready to start school at USU in the fall!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this church. I always believed the things that I was told, but it wasnt until I got into high school that I really gained my own testimony. My junior year I was working a lot of sundays, and just wasn't really feeling the spirit in my life, and my life just wasn't very happy. When I started my senior year I decided that I didn't want another year like the last one, so I thought about what I did different my junior year that caused so much unhappiness. I realized that it was my attitude and my church attendance. I worked it out so that I could go to church and not have to work sundays, and I also checked my attitude. Within the first couple of weeks I noticed the difference. I enjoyed school a lot more, I got better grades, and I was just a happier person. It is this experience among others that keeps me in this church and continue to live the gospel.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith through my actions. When I am making decisions I think "What would Jesus do?" There are time when I still make incorrect choices, and because of that I am grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ, which allows me to repent and be forgiven of my sins. I just finished serving as a full time missionary for Jesus Christ. I went everyday and taught others the gospel of Jesus Christ and help them come closer to their Heavenly Father. While I'm teaching I also love to find ways to help the people that I am around. Jesus Christ spent his entire life serving his fellow men, and I am trying to do the same!

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon was written by ancient Prophets that lived on the American continent. We know that God loves everyone so his gospel was on the whole earth, not just the middle east. The Book of Mormon is writings of the people on the american continent, their lives and stories. The Book of Mormon, like it says on the cover, is another testament of Jesus Christ. It is another evidence that Jesus Christ is our savior. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony simply put is knowing that something is true. Usually we gain a testimony by experience. For example I have a testimony that God lives because he has answered my prayers! Show more Show less

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

We believe that baptism is a necessary ordinance for salvation. There have been millions and billions of people who have lived on the earth. Some of them probably never even heard the name Jesus Christ, let alone was taught his gospel. God wants all of his children to return to him, and we can only do that by being baptized. So we perform baptisms for those people weren't baptized while on earth because we want all of our brothers and sisters to return to their father as well! Show more Show less

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

If you have the desire to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints the first step is to talk with the missionaries. Their job is to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ so that everyone has the opportunity to learn about it. They will invite you to do things like, read the Book of Mormon, pray and ask God if what they teach is true, and come to church. As you learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ you will feel the spirit. There will be a peace and comforting feeling in your heart. When this happens you become a member of the church by being baptized by someone holding the authority to baptize, then shortly after hands are laid on your head, you are confirmed a member of the church and given a blessing to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
