Hi I'm Terri

I'm a Mormon, a wife, a mom, a Spanish teacher, a runner, a volunteer and a friend.

About Me

I grew up as a military brat and moved around in the United States and Europe. Almost every where we lived, the church was small and I was one of the few Mormons in my school. I always had two families wherever we lived - my family that offered security and love in a new place and my church family that offered instant friends, support and a commitment to Christ wherever we lived. I loved moving around and still love to travel with my family. We find the church wherever we travel in the world and immediately have friends from other cultures. It is an awesome experience to be in a new place and feel the same spirit of love and commitment to Christ that has been a constant in my life. I went to school at BYU in Utah and in Paris, France and I served a mission in Paraguay. I have been fortunate enough to be an at home mom most of the time my husband and I have been raising our daughters, but I have always taught something in addition to teaching my children. I have taught aerobics, tumbling, gymnastics, make-up and color coordination, and music. About 7 years ago I helped form a small business teaching Spanish to elementary and middle school students before and after school - it is one of the most enjoyable things I have done. I love to run and have completed 3 marathons (1 of them in Paris, France), 2 half-ironman triathlons (don't think I could ever do a full ironman) and summited Mt. Rainier. I love life, my family, and the gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of the church. My dad joined the church after he and my mom started dating in college. He joined the church and never looked back. My husband is also a convert to the church - he investigated the church because of good friends in high school. I can't think of a time when I ever had serious doubts about the truthfulness of the gospel or the existence of a Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ who both know and love me. I have felt the Spirit of the Holy Ghost many, many times in my life testifying of the truthfulness of the gospel. I have traveled the world and met many different people of all walks of life. I have never found a better way to live life than following the teachings of Christ.

How I live my faith

I am the stake Primary president right now. I love Primary! (Primary is the church organization that serves the 18 month to 11 year old children). I love to serve in the church in whatever position I am called - it gives me a chance to put into practice the commandments to love and serve one another. I have been a PTA president and am very active in the schools my daughters attend. The most important things I do to live my faith are the things I do within the walls of my home - praying and learning with my family combined with a lot of laughter and work!
