Hi I'm Ryan X Allred

I am an artist. I make haute cuisine. Je suis franco-americain. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Until about 7 years ago, I was a video game developer with a about a half dozen games under my belt. When our second was born, it was time to come home and help take care of the kids. We have 4 beautiful girls that are a real handful. With the little free time I have, I love reading, hiking, kayaking. I am hoping to be able to write my own novels when the kids are older.

Why I am a Mormon

In the house that I grew up in, we believed in prayer. When I was a senior in high school, I took a comparative religion course and it forced me to seriously look at my beliefs. I invested time praying about whether our Father in Heaven existed. He answered emphatically 'Yes'. Then I inquired about where I should turn for the truth. I had some family members who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I read the Book of Mormon and was strongly touched by its spirit and its invitation to come unto Christ and believe in Him. I knew that it was true after taking the ancient American prophet Moroni's invitation at the end of the book to 'Study, Ponder and Pray with faith in the Savior Jesus-Christ' about the book. It has been an important part of my life since then.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I served a mission in the south of France as a missionary. I have worked with the youth for several years during those trying teenage years. I have taught the 10-12 year old classes as well. Currently I assist both by visiting families in our area and helping them how ever I can as well as help run the teaching programs within our Sunday School for our congregation. I also help out with our kids schools as a parent volunteer in the classrooms. I enjoy teaching about my french heritage at the schools and sharing my love of learning with the kids. We ardently believe in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that we must be always anxiously engaged in good causes. We believe that true joy comes through loving and selfless service to others.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Ryan X Allred
Absolutely. If God loved his children in ancient times enough to send them, does He love us any less? Prophets serve at least 2 purposes. In the past, Christ Jesus personally called prophets, apostles, evangelists, teachers, deacons, etc, according to the Apostle Paul. He uses such leaders to help move His great work forward, because it is through selfless service that we develop Christ-like qualities and allow us to be one with Him so that we may be One with the Father. Having a living prophet allows the Father to teach hitherto new principles or doctrine to all His children. We can always interpret scripture to meet our intimate needs through personal revelation via prayer and communion with the Holy Ghost. But the greatest acts of service are always done through the synergistic power of communities, whether they are a family or a nation. Our Father in Heaven understands this and he communes with his living prophet, Thomas S Monson, in order to bless the lives of all His children regardless of their circumstances or creeds.
