Hi I'm Marc

I'm a Mormon, born into this religion. I have ancestors dating back at least 4 generations that accepted & practiced this faith.

About Me

I enjoy mountain climbing with my wife and family. We have lived in the Rocky Mountains for +25 years and have consciously exploited opportunities to be up in the mountains year round, skiing, hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking. We as well enjoy running and have participated in the 10 K Boulder Bolder Race for the last several years.

Why I am a Mormon

As a Mormon, I have experienced a closeness to Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father that was unavailable in any other faith I have been exposed to. The spiritual rewards of pursuing truth through the confirming witness of the Holy Ghost is fundamental to establish a religious knowledge of who God is and understanding the loving, divine nature of the Father and His Son. This is core in the pursuit of a personal testimony in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A modern-day prophet has counseled, "that when a man is motivated by great and powerful convictions of truth, then he disciplines himself, not because of demands made upon him by the church but because of the knowledge within his heart that God lives, that he is a child of God with an eternal limitless potential, that there is joy in serving and satisfaction in laboring in a great cause". My testimony, my faith and my actions are based on a conviction that can only occur from a spiritual confirmation through the sweet and peaceful witness of the Spirit. Blind or unfounded belief is reckless and ultimately does not allow one to cultivate a deep abiding relationship with the Savior. In this faith, it is understood and expected that one develop a personal testimony through the spiritual witness of the Holy Spirit. This can only happen through prayerful reflection and with sincere desire. God does answer prayer. If you are searching for the true church, I hope that you will take a chance and allow the Mormon missionaries to assist you in your spiritual quest for the truth. Through an initial venture in faith, I have found the truth, and can now say that with a knowledge that Jesus has established His church with its many related blessings on the earth today. May you as well.

How I live my faith

At baptism I covenanted to emulate the teachings of Jesus Christ. I try to do this daily. I look forward to serving others and renewing spiritual values by attending church on Sundays. As I practice living the Gospel of Jesus Christ, attempting to live selflessly, I have realized a true happiness. I have come to find that one of the differences between true joy and mere pleasure is that certain pleasures are realized only at the cost of someone else’s pain. Joy on the other hand, springs out of selflessness and service, and it benefits rather than hurts others. Not only do we find ourselves in terms of acknowledging guidance in our lives, but the more we serve our fellowmen in appropriate ways, the more there is in our souls. We become more significant individuals as we serve others. We become more substantive as we serve others; indeed it is easier to find ourselves because there is so much more of us to find, and to love.
