Hi I'm John Sanders

I'm a convert. I joined the church back in 1985 and I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I'm a father to four wonderful daughters and a husband to a wonderful wife. I enjoy working outside in my yard and the garden and also going to the lake for some quality family time. I also enjoy working on cars. Cars have been a passion of mine since my early youth. My step father and i would work on cars together and he taught me a lot of things about cars. I also spent16 years in the US Navy as an aircraft mechanic.

Why I am a Mormon

For many years while growing up as a Catholic, i always wanted to know more about life. When i was in high school, i took an astronomy class and it was then that i found out how large and spacious the universe actually was. It was about this same time that i started reflecting on how small we actually are in relation to the universe and that there had to be more to life than just the planet we lived on. I had known several Latter Day Saints in high school but it was not until I was 18 that i met a young lady who was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, who actually took the time to tell me about the plan of salvation. When I heard about who we are, where we came from and where we are going after death, it all just clicked with me. It all made perfect sense and it was like I was hearing about something that I had already known previously. This is why I am a Mormon !

How I live my faith

In my church ward that I am in, I am currently serving as the Sunday School President. I thoroughly enjoy what I do and rejoice in the fact that other church members are learning just like me, to live a Christ centered life. I have had many opportunities to serve in other positions with the church and have always enjoyed serving my fellow man (and Woman). It has always been more of a learning experience for me and hopefully made me a better person. The best thing I can do to show how I live my faith, is to be the best person that i possibly can. I'm not always that person, but I do continually try each and every day and when I fall short of my goal, I know that I can repent and then move beyond that and then continually try to be a good example for those around me in life including my family.
