Hi I'm Stan

I'm a husband, father, grandfather and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of 3 and a grandfather of 11 (so far). I work in the oil and gas industry. After graduating from college, I went to work in West Texas where I spent 10 years in the oil fields for a major oil company until being transferred to Colorado. That's where I learned about the church and eventually became converted because of the example of good neighbors and more importantly the influence of the spirit. My family and I were baptized 25 years ago. What a blessing the church has been in all of our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church because of a powerful feeling that I know was the Holy Ghost testifying to me that what my neighbors and my future bishop were teaching me was true. I was very stubborn at first in allowing people to teach me. It wasn't until I humbled myself that I began to learn and accept the truth. My testimony has grown over the years as I have lived the gospel. I took a step into the darkness and found the light. I look back now after 25 years and I'm amazed by the blessings I've received. Especially, the happiness that comes from having righteous children who are teaching their children the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in our High Priests Quorum leadership. I'm involved in serving other people in our Ward. Specifically, in caring for their physical, emotional and spiritual needs. I teach lessons at church on occasions and I'm also involved in doing Indexing for the family history efforts of the Church. I have found true happiness through serving others. Over the years I've been involved in many different areas of responsibility including serving as Scoutmaster. I've found great satisfaction in working with the youth of the church. It strengthens my faith to see how the gospel changes lives.
