Hi I'm Ashton Roney

I grew up in Orem Utah, I love to ski, I'm a missionary serving a mission in Alaska, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from Orem Utah and I've lived there my whole life. I love skiing, hiking, lacrosse, doing stuff outside and being with friends and family. Before my mission I went to college at UVU and I'm planning on going back after I return home from my mission in Alaska.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because I know that the gospel is true. This church is centered on Jesus Christ and its all about families. The more that I live the gospel the more it blesses my life, I love being a part of this religion because it makes me a better person. The more I study the gospel the more my love for the Savior grows, and I love it! No matter what, I know that my Savior is there for me and he has given me the most amazing gift ever by performing the atonement. The atonement is the greatest act of love ever shown. I love being a mormon and I love my Savior.

How I live my faith

Right now I live my faith by taking two years out of my life to share this amazing gospel and serve the people in Alaska. The gospel has brought me so much joy, peace and happiness, and now I have the opportunity to see it do the same thing in the lives of others.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

Ashton Roney
Well, because baptism is essential for salvation in the kingdom of God, everyone needs to be baptized in order to return to live with our Heavenly Father. Since not everyone had the opportunity to be baptized by proper authority during their life on earth, people may be baptized in behalf of a deceased person. Otherwise not everyone would be able to return to live with our Heavenly Father, and that wouldn't be fair for those deceased people who never had the opportunity to be baptized during their life on earth. And because our Heavenly Father loves us, he always provides a way for everyone to return to live with him. Show more Show less
